Everything That Happens...

What is it about David Byrne? Last time I saw him, a few summers ago, he traverse from very old Talking Heads to operatic arias, and of course material from his then new album, Grown Backwards. Like a virus, he seems to be in my cells and making himself at home. I guess it's the same as Tom Waits; the greatness is in the simple differentness.

Tim Page interview with Glenn Gould
08/May/31 09:00
Like many people from the early 80s, I caught the CBC documentary on Glenn Gould made shortly before his death. His music had always had a strong attraction for me, but like anyone from a small town in the pre-pre-pre-Amazon/CD Baby/CBC shops age, I didn't have access to much in terms of classical music. Sure, there must have been a specialty store in Edmonton, but getting there and finding it was a problem for a poor student.
So, after the show aired, I found myself in the U of A Students' Records store browsing for Glenn. Approaching the sales counter, the guy behind it immediately put 2 and 2 together and simply said, "Good show, eh? Sad..."
Anyway, here's a link to the interview with Glenn Gould by Tim Page.
